Banqueting Hall

Description

Decorated with ornate murals of the history of the Glamorgan county, the banqueting hall in Cardiff Castle was designed by William Burges. The hammer-beam roof is typical of English Gothic architecture and allowed for higher ceilings without the weight and problems posed by stone.
